The Waiting Game

Unfortunately, it's a game we seem to be losing at!

The Security office was unable to send anyone to do the inspection today. A little more than a little frustrating. We were told face to face on Monday that the inspection would happen on Wednesday or Thursday then on Thursday I was told it would happen Thursday afternoon or Friday. Today, John and I were told it would definitely happen by the end of the business day. At 5:30 this evening, we were told it would happen Monday afternoon. I'm seeing a pattern, you?

The good news is - John's home!!!! He was late getting to the gate in Atlanta and found out they had given his seat away. Thankfully I wasn't the only one to keep their temper in check yesterday as John did too. He ended up with the last seat available on the plane - First Class, thank you very much!! Yeah John!!

So, jet lag and all, I let John talk to the Security lady because I didn't trust my temper today. Again, she's very sweet and working short-handed but I just think this is unacceptable. This all meant that our furniture delivery needed to be delayed until Wednesday but there's still a few things needed to be finished inside the house, IE. the floors, so that probably works out for the best - but Mrs. Nice Guy is leaving the building come Monday afternoon if there isn't an Embassy person at the door. John has even given me clearance to go ballistic, now that doesn't happen often! LOL

The girls are at a school Luau and then sleeping over at a girlfriend's house. Jake has the other Embassy family's (here at the hotel) little boys over right now and the oldest will be sleeping over too. Our kids took the news of the delay like the troopers that they are. They really have been outstanding with this move - I'm so very proud of them!

Still taking those deep breaths - hey, I forgot my glass of wine tonight! Oh well, just the fact that John's here is wonderful enough!

Take a moment to enjoy your home tonight - there's no place like it!! :-)

You're dealing with beaurocracy and it's a losing battle. I think it's a given that they don't have to tell the truth. So go ballistic if it makes you feel better but don't be surprised if they just smile and promise you delivery the next day...and then don't deliver.

Smile and enjoy your beautiful family, sweetie!

Breathe in, breathe out. This will all be a distant nightmare very soon. Just think, you will have to cook and clean soon too so what's your hurry?
The kids have learned early that all that you need (not want) is each other. Nothing else is really too important.
Hugs and kisses to all. I'm glad the man is home safe too.
